But finding the right ring size is just as important as finding the perfect design since you are going to be wearing it for the rest of your married life!
Although getting your accurate ring size is ideally a visit to your jeweler, If you find no time to actually go there, there are other ways you can use simply at home to do just that. Lets list some of the handy and most convenient ways to do that.

It’s as easy as just downloading the chart online and taking it with you to your next local jeweler’s visit. Follow the instructions as given and you should know your size immediately.

DIY ring measuring at home
All you need is a string, a ruler with measurements and a pen. Use about a 6 inches long string and hold it around your finger, just below the knuckles. Mark where the string touches the end of the ring circumference. Now take that measurement to check it with the size chart for better understanding.
The other way is to use a ring that fits your finger that you want to measure. Measure the inner circumference of the ring but not the outer metal and check the ring chart.
- Remember to always check the temperature when you are measuring your ring size since in summer the fingers expand a bit and in winter they shrink. So it’s wise to measure during summertime.
- Secondly, check the ring size at least 2-3 times to be sure. The ring should fit snugly but not too tight, as this will avoid accidents and loss, and also not stop the blood flow in your fingers. The ring should come off and sit in without too much effort.
- Last but not the least, if you want to surprise her with a beautiful diamond ring but also want to get her size secretly, it’s best to ask someone close to her like her mom, sister or best friend. The other way could be to take a ring she owns and press it on a soap or draw the inner circumference on paper and no one will know.
